GWH Upgrade - Woodford
The project involves the duplication of 4.5km of the Great Western Highway between Woodford and Hazelbrook.

Scope of Works:
- Civil & Tunnel were engaged by Lend Lease to supply plant, labour and supervision (2 crews) to construct 4.5km of highway drainage and install precast pits to RMS standards between Woodford and Hazelbrook.
- The pipeline was constructed in hard sandstone adjacent to the Great Western Highway, which is the main arterial road through the Blue Mountains.
- The pipeline ranged in size from 375mm-1200mm RCP pipes, up to depths of 3.5m with sections of the route having to be rock sawed using a 25-ton excavator due to the proximity of live services and occupied buildings.
